Power Selector Switch – Maintained ON-OFF-ON, Waterproof DPDT 12V

Sale price$15.00

Add simple, dependable power-source control to your Durvela Solar Aeration Fan Kit. This maintained three-position toggle switch lets you select between solar power and an external 12V DC adapter, with a center OFF position for storage, servicing or shutdown.

Unlike a momentary switch, the toggle remains in the selected position until it is moved again. Its DPDT six-terminal design provides positive electrical separation between the solar and adapter inputs, helping prevent one source from feeding power back into the other.

The panel-mount metal body and protective rubber boot are designed for installation on the exterior of the aeration-kit enclosure. Inside the enclosure, the adapter input can be connected through the Durvela WAGO 221 and fuse assembly before reaching the switch.

Key features:

  • Maintained ON-OFF-ON operation

  • Three clearly defined positions: SOLAR, OFF and ADAPTER

  • DPDT six-terminal configuration

  • Designed for 12V DC systems

  • Waterproof protective boot

  • Heavy-duty panel-mount construction

  • Center OFF position for servicing and storage

  • Separates solar and adapter positive supplies

  • Compatible with the Durvela Solar Aeration Fan Kit

  • Intended for use with the Durvela fused DC backup-power input

Important: This is a maintained ON-OFF-ON switch. It does not spring back to OFF when released. Verify the terminal layout by continuity test or the supplied wiring guide before installation.

Installation and use
  1. Set the existing system to OFF and disconnect both the solar panel and DC adapter.
  2. Confirm the replacement switch is marked ON-OFF-ON without parentheses. Do not install a momentary (ON)-OFF-(ON) switch.
  3. Insert the threaded switch body through the prepared 12 mm enclosure hole.
  4. Install the supplied mounting hardware and waterproof boot according to the switch instructions.
  5. Tighten the mounting nut only until the switch is secure and the boot seal is evenly compressed.
  6. Identify the switch common terminal and both outside terminals using the supplied diagram and a continuity test. Do not rely solely on terminal position.
  7. Connect the solar-panel positive wire to the terminal corresponding to the SOLAR position.
  8. Connect the fused adapter-positive wire from the WAGO 221 and RUEF110 assembly to the terminal corresponding to the ADAPTER position.
  9. Connect the switch common terminal to the capillary thermostat COM terminal.
  10. Leave the solar, adapter and fan negative wires connected to the common-negative return. Do not route negative through the selector.
  11. Tighten each screw terminal securely and gently tug-test every connected wire.
  12. Route the wires so they cannot pull on the switch, contact sharp edges or interfere with the thermostat capillary tube.
  13. Reinstall all enclosure covers and seals before reconnecting power.
  14. Label the three switch positions SOLAR, OFF and ADAPTER.
  15. Test each position separately. Confirm the fan operates from solar in SOLAR, remains off in OFF and operates from the adapter in ADAPTER when the thermostat calls for fan operation.

Important notes

• Use only a maintained ON-OFF-ON switch. A momentary (ON)-OFF-(ON) model will return to OFF when released and will not provide continuous fan operation.

• Always disconnect both the solar panel and DC adapter before opening the enclosure or changing switch wiring.

• Verify the common and throw terminals by continuity test before installation. Terminal arrangements can differ between switch models.

• Switch only the positive supply conductors in this Durvela configuration. The negative conductors remain connected to the common-negative return.

• The adapter-positive wire must pass through the RUEF110 resettable fuse assembly before reaching the selector switch.

• Never connect the solar and adapter positive wires directly together.

• Do not bypass the center OFF position, RUEF110 fuse, thermostat or WAGO connections.

• The waterproof boot protects the switch from the front of the panel only when installed and tightened correctly.

• The final enclosure protection rating depends on the switch seal, mounting hole, cable entries and all other enclosure seals.

• This selector provides manual source selection. It does not automatically transfer between solar and adapter power.

• Use only a regulated 12 VDC, center-positive adapter for backup power.

• This product is intended for low-voltage Durvela equipment. It is not intended for household AC wiring.
