Durvela warrants that its composting systems will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for a period of ten (10) years from the original date of purchase.

If a covered defect occurs during the warranty period, Durvela will, at its sole discretion:

• Repair the defective component;
• Replace the defective component; or
• Supply an equivalent replacement component.

• Stainless steel drum
• Stainless steel frame and support structure
• Welded assemblies
• Mechanical mixing paddles
• Crank assembly
• Sprockets and mechanical drive components

Coverage applies only to defects in materials or workmanship under normal intended use (See our Corrosion Protection and Exclusions sections below.)

For commercial, institutional, agricultural, hospitality, educational, municipal, and other non-residential applications, Durvela warrants the composting system against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the original date of purchase.

Commercial applications include, but are not limited to:

• Farms
• Market gardens
• Wineries
• Breweries
• Restaurants
• Schools
• Municipal facilities
• Community composting programs
• Hotels and resorts
• Commercial landscaping operations

Commercial coverage applies to the same structural and mechanical components listed above.

Durvela warrants accessories and electronic components against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase.

• Temperature gauges
• Thermometers
• Aeration fans
• Solar panels
• Monitoring equipment
• Sensors
• Electronic accessories
• Casters
• Rakes
• Tools
• Durvela-branded accessories supplied with or sold for use with the system

Replacement accessories supplied under warranty are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer.

Durvela composters are manufactured using corrosion-resistant stainless steel. For information about stainless steel care, maintenance, and surface staining, see our Will the Stainless Steel Rust? FAQ . This warranty covers corrosion resulting directly from defects in materials or manufacturing.

This warranty does not cover:

• Surface staining
• Tea staining
• Cosmetic discoloration
• Rust transfer from contaminated tools
• Corrosion caused by improper maintenance
• Corrosion resulting from chemical exposure
• Corrosion caused by saltwater exposure
• Corrosion resulting from misuse or neglect

Stainless steel surfaces should be maintained according to the Durvela Stainless Steel Maintenance Guide . If surface contamination occurs from carbon steel tools or particles, the affected area can typically be cleaned and restored using appropriate stainless steel cleaning products such as Bar Keepers Friend®.

• Normal wear and tear
• Cosmetic scratches, dents, or finish variations
• Damage caused by abuse, misuse, negligence, or improper operation
• Damage caused by overloading the system beyond intended use
• Damage resulting from improper assembly, installation, transportation, or storage
• Damage caused by unauthorized modifications or repairs
• Damage resulting from use contrary to Durvela instructions
• Damage caused by accidents
• Damage caused by fire, flood, lightning, earthquakes, storms, or other acts of nature
• Battery replacement
• Electrical damage caused by power surges or improper connections
• Routine maintenance and cleaning
• Labor costs associated with removal, installation, inspection, or service
• Loss of compost
• Loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, or consequential damages

To maintain warranty coverage, the owner must:

• Operate the system according to Durvela instructions
• Use the system only for its intended composting purpose
• Perform reasonable maintenance and cleaning
• Avoid prolonged contact between stainless steel surfaces and carbon steel tools or materials
• Retain proof of purchase
• Promptly report any potential warranty issue

Failure to reasonably maintain the product may void warranty coverage.

To submit a warranty claim, please provide:

• Proof of purchase
• Product model
• Description of the issue
• Photographs of the affected component
• Any additional information reasonably requested by Durvela

Durvela reserves the right to inspect the product or request additional documentation before approving a claim.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Durvela’s liability under this warranty shall be limited exclusively to repair or replacement of covered components.

Durvela shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the product.

Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, these limitations shall apply only to the extent permitted by law.

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Durvela is committed to supporting long product life and intends to maintain replacement parts availability for as long as reasonably practicable following product purchase. Availability of specific components may vary over time.
