Why Durvela
Durvela combines durable stainless steel construction, insulation, controlled aeration, rotary mixing and process monitoring in one long-life composting system.
Choosing your model
Start with the combined weekly weight of food scraps, garden material and the dry carbon material needed to balance the mix. Then choose a model that gives you comfortable operating room rather than relying on the drum’s maximum volume.
Open the sizing calculatorInclude food scraps, green material and dry carbon amendments.
A partially filled drum mixes and aerates more effectively than an overfilled one.
Confirm access, a firm level base, working clearance and the unloading direction before delivery.
Important site-planning note
The optional solar aeration kit attaches at the unloading end. Orienting that end toward the sun helps the solar panel receive more direct light and supports maximum airflow.
Complete the system
Support aeration, monitoring, unloading, screening and routine care with tools selected for the Durvela system.
Frequently asked questions
Use these answers as a starting point, then contact Durvela if your site or material stream needs a closer review.
The Durvela 300 offers the most practical balance for many households, especially active home cooks and gardeners. Smaller households or constrained sites may prefer the Durvela 120.
No. Base the decision on weekly input weight, the carbon material required, operating headroom, available space and the quantity of finished compost you want.
Install on a flat, level surface that will not sink and can support the composter’s loaded mass. A solid foundation such as a concrete pad or paving stones is recommended for the Durvela 300 and larger systems.
The optional solar aeration kit attaches to the unloading end. Facing that end toward the strongest available sunshine helps the solar panel power the fan and maintain airflow.
Durvela composters come pre-assembled. The customer is responsible for suitable unloading equipment, site access and a prepared foundation unless other arrangements are confirmed.
