Durvela 2000 Composter
Large-capacity insulated stainless-steel composting for farms, commercial properties, and institutions.
The Durvela 2000 is the largest Durvela composting system. Its 2,000 L drum is designed for operations with substantial, recurring organic material, including farms, restaurants, breweries, hospitality properties, campuses, and other commercial or institutional sites.
An insulated rotary drum, mechanical mixing system, controlled aeration, and monitoring ports support a more manageable composting process at scale. The 304 stainless-steel construction provides a durable, professional alternative to coordinating multiple small composters.
Why choose the Durvela 2000?
- 2,000 L (528 USG) drum for substantial and recurring composting volumes
- Estimated working capacity of 1,500 L at approximately 75% fill, leaving room for mixing and airflow
- 75 mm polyurethane insulation to help retain composting heat
- Mechanical mixing to break up and redistribute larger loads
- Controlled aeration to support oxygen-rich aerobic composting
- Monitoring ports for checking composting conditions
- 304 stainless-steel construction for durability and a professional appearance

Best suited to
- Farms and agricultural properties
- Restaurants, breweries, vineyards, and hospitality operations
- Institutions, campuses, and community facilities
- Commercial sites seeking one coordinated system instead of multiple small composters
A more controlled composting process
Add suitable organic material together with the recommended dry, carbon-rich inputs, maintain appropriate moisture, and rotate the drum regularly. Insulation helps retain biologically generated heat, while mixing and aeration help distribute moisture and oxygen throughout larger compost loads.
Common inputs include fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, tea leaves, eggshells, garden trimmings, dry leaves, shredded cardboard, sawdust, and suitable wood pellets. Commercial operators should establish consistent sorting, contamination control, loading, recordkeeping, and staff procedures. Finished compost output and processing time vary with feedstock, carbon balance, moisture, temperature, particle size, loading frequency, and management.
Confirm the right size
The example capacity range refers to the total compost mix, including food scraps and the recommended carbon-rich materials—not food scraps alone. Estimates assume approximately four weeks of active composting, moisture near 58%, about 40% volume reduction during processing, and model-specific working fill.
Use the Durvela Compost Mix Calculator to estimate your browns, moisture adjustment, active volume, and recommended system size. You can also compare all four Durvela models.
Warranty, delivery, and setup
Durvela coverage includes a 10-year residential warranty, a 5-year commercial warranty, and a 1-year warranty for the gauge, fan, and accessories, subject to the complete policy terms. Review the Durvela warranty before ordering.
The Durvela 2000 requires careful freight and site planning. Confirm vehicle access, unloading arrangements, foundation requirements, operating clearance, and the route to the final location before ordering. Review the delivery and installation requirements and contact Durvela to discuss the site.
